Thanksgiving 2012

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving!  Well, anything would have seemed fabulous after last year's Thanksgiving when I was 38 weeks pregnant, sick with the stomach virus, and away from my family :-(.  We were able to spend some good quality time with lots of friends and family.

Photo sessions

We are so lucky to have connections with photographers who give us discounts :-).  This way I don't feel bad having the kids' pictures taken every six months or so.

This first set of pictures was taken by one of my former students at a park about 6 miles from our house.  I love the way they turned out (except for the fact that Graham was way too busy to sit still and smile)!  And you just might see one or more of these pictures on our Christmas cards soon!

And this set was taken by a friend from our church who photographs for fun.  The only way he would let me pay him was in baked goods!

Aaaaaaand he's off!

Graham started taking steps back before Thanksgiving.  And as if he knew yesterday was his birthday, he began walking more than he was crawling.  Such fun!

What I want to remember: Graham at 11 months

How has another month come and gone so quickly?!  Maybe it's because this boy is into EVERYTHING!  He keeps us so busy!  Seriously.  There is very little resting when Graham is around.  If he's not climbing the stairs, he's emptying a drawer, cleaning out the cabinets and climbing in, or eating something inedible.  Anytime one of us is in the kitchen, he thinks we must be preparing him food that he wants to eat NOW.  Anytime he catches sight of a bathtub, with or without water in it, he wants to get in.  Anytime he hears music, he starts bouncing up and down.  And he now knows how to flush the toilets and will do it repeatedly until we remove him from the bathroom.  He loves a good stick, his silly sister, a game of chase, tickles before bedtime, being outside, and wheeled vehicles.  And he has WORDS!!!  Who cares if he said "ball" before "mama" and "dada"?  His furniture-cruising is becoming more daring as he will now "fall" from one handhold to another that's far away.  Walking is just around the corner!

Graham still eats everything in sight (except avocados--or abocados, as Piper calls them).  He nurses four times a day, although we will begin the weaning process very soon.  Right now he takes about 10 ounces of formula from a cup during the day, and I'll slowly transition this to whole milk over the next few weeks.  Aside from baby cereal, he eats what we eat and no baby food.  I'm a little nervous to find out how much more he'll eat once we stop nursing.  He's a bottomless pit!  He now has three teeth and drools c-o-n-s-t-a-n-t-l-y (like, we find trails like those made by slugs around the house).

I can't believe the next monthly post I'll be writing will be his birthday entry.  What a whirlwind year it has been!

hanging out in the cabinets
wielding a stick--a common sight
playing nice--for the moment
looking dapper
showing off his new top tooth!  and there are more close behind!
reorganizing (if that's what you want to call it)
pushing--a new pastime
modeling his new winter gear (and looking thrilled, I might add)
helping with the laundry
can I climb in here?
always climbing something
happy!  and drooly!
