Piper's 3rd Birthday Party

We celebrated Piper's birthday last weekend back home with our families.  We had so much fun!  This was the first year she seemed to really get the concept of growing older and celebrating her age.  After visiting Sea World last February, Piper has been obsessed with Shamu.  She even has a little stuffed Shamu that she sleeps with and takes in the car everywhere we go.  It was a no-brainer for me to have a Shamu-themed birthday party.  Her reaction when she saw her cookies and cake was priceless!  I have never seen her smile so big and giggle so much!

We are forever grateful for the people who came to her party and those who sent her well wishes.

The cake!
It was as yummy as it was beautiful!
Checking out her presents
Posing in her Shamu-inspired birthday dress
Soup with Cameron
She is blessed!
Snuggles with Tam-Tam and Mamaw
Graham and Ella were big buddies
Present time!
She was so good to thank everyone after opening their present to her.
Graham got in on some of the action, too.
Her face cracks me up in these next few pictures.  So serious!

Singing "Happy Birthday" as the cake was walked out to her.
She sang right along with us :-)
Blowing out the candles!
Digging into Shamu (and there's a thief!)
Caught red-handed!
She was happy to share.

We finally gave Graham his own piece.
Family picture time!
Playing with her new soccer ball
It's hard to see, but she's standing on her new bases.
Shin guards!

SNOW!!!!!

Last week we finally got some snow here in Nashville!  It snowed Thursday night/Friday morning just enough to bundle up and see what the kids thought about it.  Piper had been BEGGING for snow, so I knew she would love it, but I wasn't sure how Graham would react.  Neither kid seemed to mind the cold or all their snow gear and got right down to business!  The snow was all gone by noon that day.

Then Saturday morning, we woke up to this!  It was a complete surprise.  We wasted no time getting out in it, which was a good thing because, just like the day before, the snow was all gone by lunchtime.

I taught Piper how to make a snow angel.  She thought that was so cool and asked if we could then "make the rest of the Nativity."  Love her!

Snow cream!

I'm not sure if we will get any more snow this year, but I'm glad we had just enough so the kids could play in it (and it not interrupt our daily comings and goings!).
