Merry Christmas!

Josh and I have had a wonderful Christmas. We spent about a week back home in East Tennessee visiting various family members. This was the first year ever for me that I did not receive any clothes for Christmas. I will be so happy to be able to shop for real clothes again! Both grandmothers bought us some big-ticket baby items for which we are very grateful. Piper now has a rug for her room, a stroller and car seat, and a pack and play. We have almost all of the basic necessities for her to come home to with two more showers to go!

The challenge this visit was surviving my parents' major remodeling project. Instead of moving, Mom decided to knock out two outside walls to double the size of the living room, refinish all the hardwood floors, remove the popcorn from the ceilings, and paint. It's been crazy here! Thankfully they are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

I still have another week out of school before returning for a short while. I'd love to be able to work right up until Piper is born, but I'm not so sure how realistic that is. At this point I'm still sleeping well and getting around fine, but I'm not naive enough to think that will last forever, and I really don't want my water to break in front of 30+ high school students! I guess I'll just take it one day at a time!

  1. No clothes for me as well. It felt weird. Although, I did get a gift card to Motherhood, which was sweet, but I am so over maternity clothes and just want to buy stuff for the nursery. Oh well, I should pick out something cute to wear to my baby shower. See you soon.
