Celebrations

Josh, Piper, and I travelled to E. TN this past weekend to celebrate his birthday and Father's Day with many of the special people in our lives. We have figured out that Piper rides best in the car in the late evenings. This way she gets her last feeding from a bottle as we're riding down the road and then sleeps the rest of the way. We didn't make any stops on our trip east and only had to make one on the trip back west, but only then to change drivers. Piper did so well!

Happy birthday to Josh! He turned 29 on Sunday while also celebrating his first Father's Day!

Piper made her inagural dip into the lake! She didn't quite know what to think of it. Part of the time she smiled, and part of the time she cried. I kept her in the little canopied boat until we found shade because I'm trying to be very careful to keep her out of the sun. She had fun kicking around with me once I got her out of her boat. Cousin Ian was helpful in helping Piper get acclimated to the water.

Now that she can roll herself over (and over and over!), Piper always sleeps on her tummy. It makes me a little nervous, so much so that I peek in on her every 10 minutes or so during her naps. However, I know that she is strong and can move her head well enough so that she should be ok. She has even started taking some longer naps!
Tomorrow is our first pool date. I think we'll have lots of fun!
