On what was literally the hottest day of the year so far, Piper and I joined Baker and Charlotte at the Nashville Zoo. Notice the time of the picture above? That's right--it was over 90 degrees before 9:00 in the morning. But we knew it would be hot and prepared for it.

The babies got to ride around together in my new-to-me double stroller. They did great and didn't seem to be bothered by the heat at all. Of course, we kept them supplied with lots of water and juicy snacks.

One of our first stops was the little train. Piper was so serious the entire time we were at the zoo, as evidenced by her expression here. I think she thought she would miss something if she smiled!

Just as we'd thought, the babies loved the petting zoo. Piper ran around calling all the goats "gogs." She absolutely would not touch them, though.

This goat tried to eat my shoes. Really--I'm going to have to replace one of my shoelaces.

Here she is pointing to the silly "gogs."

Contemplating climbing in with the camels.

Before we left, all four of us rode the carousel. Piper loved looking at all the different animals, but she was terrified once the ride actually began. I think you can tell how much she liked the experience by the grip she has on my shirt (not to mention the look on her face!).
