Graham was admitted to the ER at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital this morning for another high fever. The doctors performed the same tests as last Saturday--blood, urine, and nasal swab. Because those came back without pinpointing a cause for the fever, they performed another lumbar puncture (spinal tap). This time there was lots of blood in his fluid. This could mean simply that the doctor hit a small blood vessel on his way in, or it could be a sign of a major infection such as meningitis or herpes. Obviously we are hoping for the former.
We will be staying at the hospital overnight for the doctors and nurses to monitor Graham. He will also be receiving antibiotics as if he has one of the infections listed above.
Please pray for the health of our little boy, clarity and wisdom for his doctors, and peace for his parents.
Much love,
Lauren
