I had forgotten how fast itty-bitty babies grow! This month Graham went from a "blob" baby to one who makes eye contact with us, follows our voices, "talks" to us, and smiles. This month has been filled with drama, and I'm so glad Graham is on the mend.
Here are some tidbits of Graham at 2 months:
- Despite all my efforts, the boy loves to nurse every two hours like clockwork. At least he's quick about it.
- Like his sister at this age, he takes 45 minute catnaps. He's almost always cranky when he wakes up but usually calms right down as soon as he sees me.
- He almost always naps in his bed. I wish he would sleep in his swing so I wouldn't be running up and down the stairs all day, but he doesn't like it when it is in motion, and Piper is just too loud. He's still young enough to sleep pretty much wherever in his car seat, which means we can get out and about without worrying about a nap schedule yet.
- He has settled into a bedtime around 7 or 8 each night. I wake him around 10 or 11 to nurse once more before I go to bed.
- Nights were rough at the beginning of the month. Sometimes Graham was waking every 1 1/2 to 2 hours and would want to nurse just enough to get back to sleep. This was exhausting. The past few nights he's been sleeping in three-hour stretches. He seemed to like the little nest he was in at the hospital, so we've attempted to recreate that in his bed at home.
- He grunts and squeaks!
- Although he'd rather be held than anything else in the world, he's finally decided that sitting and watching the world is tolerable.
- He loves his bath, and Piper likes to "help" me give it.
- He hates having his diaper changed.
- We went to the doctor today, and Graham weighs 11 1/2 lbs (33%tile). Piper didn't weigh this much until she was 4 months old!
- He is 22 1/2 inches long (67%tile).
