The Fourth of July (and August)

We had plans to attend a July 4th party at a local country club with some friends who were members.  We were bummed that we had to miss the festivities back home thanks to the holiday falling in the middle of the week, so we were really excited to spend the evening at this event.  Unfortunately, it POURED the 3rd and the 4th.  The festivities were rescheduled for the 5th, and it POURED that day, too!  After canceling twice, the country club rescheduled the party for the 4th of August.  Thankfully it didn't rain that day (a miracle!), and we were finally able to enjoy some fireworks.  Piper had been too young to see any "real" fireworks up until this point, and Graham slept most of his first 4th of July.  They were both enthralled.  Graham will answer "BOOM!" when we ask him what noise the fireworks make!

The ACTUAL 4th of July
My friend Erica and I ran a 5K race in the POURING RAIN.  But we killed it!

Piper decorated a cake to take to Mikey's house that night.
I showed up to Erica's house wearing the same outfit!  We clearly have been spending too much time together!

I really wanted a picture with the kids.  This is the best I got.

The sillies definitely set in while we waited for the fireworks show to start.

Totally enthralled!

Isn't this precious?!  These two shared a chair during the fireworks show.
