Scooting

Piper has learned that she doesn't have to stay where we put her. I guess it's time to start baby-proofing!

Ladies and gentlemen...

We have a sitter! Piper can now sit unassisted as long as she keeps relatively still or until something very exciting comes into view and she lunges for it. She's become much more stable over just the past few days, but I'm not yet comfortable allowing her to sit like this out of arm's reach. Case in point, she has her first knot on her head from falling over sideways while trying to catch McKenna as she walked past.

This promises to be an eventful week for us. On Wednesday Piper has her six month doctor's appointment. Stay tuned for her updated stats. Then on Thursday, I'm going to attempt my first long trip with her by myself. We'll be visiting baby Cameron Brownlee in Knoxville and some of my old collegues from Oak Ridge. Hopefully it won't take us 6 hours to get there!

Nice bed head

Keeping her balance even while screaming! Impressive!

Our weekend

Josh and I spent our weekend chasing down this (sorry the picture's crooked):
This picture is of $120 of organic baby food for which we paid about $14. Publix was running a By One Get One Free sale on the food, and then I realized that there was a manufacturer's coupon that was also BOGO. That was great enough in itself, and then I realized that Publix was doubling the coupon! Here's how they rang up: first packet was 50 cents, second packet was 50 cents (they are normally $1 each), coupon deducts 50 cents, doubled coupon deducts 50 more cents=free! Actually, I had to pay tax. When I bought 10 at a time, I paid 20 cents total. It took two days of BOGO before one of the nice clerks told me about the coupons. That's the only reason I spent as much money as I did. Josh and I made multiple trips to multiple stores to get the coupons and the food. What we spent in gas we more than made up for in savings on the food. These portable packets will be good for when we're traveling and can't take the frozen food that I have prepared. I feel so thrifty!

High chair

Thanks to Grandad Wattwood, Piper now has a high chair! I fed her in it last night for the first time.

Such a big girl!

More naps

I know I already posted about yesterday's nap, but that was before I saw this:
When I came back in to check on Piper, Josh had rolled over while he was asleep so that they were in the same position. I thought it was too cute.
