School update

Piper now understands our morning routine for school and loves to carry her lunch box and wear her backpack.  And I no longer have to carry her (kicking and whining) into school.  Piper will walk, sometimes run, to her room and immediately puts up her arms for her teachers to lift her into the classroom.  It has been a blessing to watcher her acclimate to this new normal.

It's not all roses, though.  This week Piper has decided that she no long has to nap while at school.  This is frustrating for not only her teachers but also me as it makes the afternoons unbearable.  As I type this, at 4:55 in the afternoon, Piper is sleeping here at home because she refused to sleep at school.  I'm not sure what this means for our evening, but we might have killed each other had she not slept some today before bedtime.  Today, her teacher told me that she was "defiant" about staying on her mat during naptime.  She's definitely learning how to assert herself.  And I'm afraid we're in for it!

Ready for school!

Let's go!

When the class needs to go to a different part of the church, they trainsport them in these rolling cribs.  Piper calls them "choo-choos."

On the way to the petting zoo

Piper's entire class and her two teachers, minus one little boy who was sick today.  Their birthdays area all within three months of each other!
